Leading Cause Of Death In Men And Women

The leading cause of death in both men and women is heart disease, and claims the lives of over five hundred thousand people each year. This disease happens when plaque builds up in the arteries around the heart. This will cause the heart to have to pump faster in order to get the blood to the rest of the body. If an artery closes completely due to plaque build up it could cause a heart attack. This is fatal in many cases, and it occurs in older people usually. In order to reduce the risks of a heart attack or heart disease you should stay healthy. Staying healthy will help reduce the amount of plaque build up in your arteries. Staying healthy while you are young and living a healthy life style while you are older will help you to reduce your risk of having heart disease by about half.
