Coronary heart disease has become the foremost disease in this country and the number-one killer. In America, that translates into 540,000 deaths per year. This life-threatening condition develops when the blood supply (and thus the oxygen supply) to the heart muscle is impaired. This happens because the blood vessels that provide nourishment to the heart (the coronary blood vessels) is blocked the Lower Monthly Payments either as a result of a narrowing process called stenosis (due to plaque formation or atherosclerosis) or because they go into spasm. Ischemic heart disease is the name doctors give to these coronary artery impairments. The term ischemia refers to an obstruction of the blood supply.
