Christian Rock
I never really ever got the concept of Christian rock bands or songs even. To me, when I think of church and religion I think of reverence, respect, gratitude, a place of peace, etc. When I think of rock bands I think of loud music, groupies, and really everything kind of the opposite of religion. I understand that some people express themselves differently from others, but that doesn’t make it ok. Take Van Gout for instance. He cut off his ear to express himself…not really ok as a societal norm to most people. There was also that artist who starved dogs to express his art…not cool. I am not trying to say that Christian rock music are anything like those extreme examples, but I do think it’s not appropriate; especially when they play during services. It’s just a ploy to make religion “cool” again; a basic marketing campaign to younger people.
